What's happening in music class???

We have been SO busy in music class!  Our most exciting piece of news is that we have a student teacher!  Her name is Miss Corey and she is here from UW-Milwaukee.  Miss Corey will be in the music room with Mrs. Wilson until the middle of January.

4K continues to explore using their singing voices vs a speaking voice.  They love playing percussion instruments and musical circle games.

5K is working on all sorts of music activities.  They are learning how to keep a steady beat and how to sing in their head (high) voices.

1st and 2nd grades are getting ready for their upcoming concert on January 29th.  They are doing a musical called Pajama Party.  Students will even get to wear their pajamas for this performance.

3rd grade recently learned how to do a crossover pattern on the xylophones.  They have also learned a new folk dance from Israel.

4th grade started their recorder unit and they are doing great with it!  The recorders will mostly be kept at school, but they will come home occasionally for a good washing.

5th grade is working hard on music for their upcoming concert on December 18th.  We will be joining the 5th graders from Parkview and Thorson for this concert.

Dolphin Chorus is also getting ready for a holiday performance on December 15th.  They will be performing at the Kids2Kids toy drive event.  We can't wait to support this wonderful cause.
